Digital Macro Photography

This workshop is conducted as three 3-hour sessions.

This course introduces you to shooting macro images using digital cameras. Macro is a broad term for getting up close and personal with your subject at magnifications that are beyond the normal. It ranges from merely close-up photography through true macro where you are representing subjects on the sensor at life-size or larger, up to specialised areas of photography through a microscope. Digital cameras offer some great capabilities in these areas, whether a compact digital or an SLR.

Topics covered include:

• What is macro
• Why is it interesting
• Equipment choices
• Accessory lenses
• Advantages of digital for macro
• Advanced options, like photomicroscopy
• Processing macro images in Photoshop
• Printing and presentation
